This
was a small scale tour which took us across
the United Kingdom and through Belgium to Holland
and Germany, with a short run at Brick Lane
Theatre in London.
Although
my main part was Lorenzo, the young lover, I
doubled with several other parts and very much
enjoyed playing Aragon one of Portia's suitors.
Unfortunately
while in Utrecht I broke two bones in my hand
and underwent surgery at the University
Hospital. It left me with three wire pins
and a large plaster cast. Although I didn't
miss a performance I returned home as soon as
my commitments were through and had the metal
removed at Addenbrooke's
in Cambridge . I remember the English consultant
complimenting the Dutch on there work.
I
didn't tour with New Triad again but productions
continue with a recent tour of Macbeth under
the direction of John Strehlow
