This
was one of the more high profile tours I was
involved in. With an extensive tour of England
and Ireland , followed by a run at the Battersea
Arts Centre and a short trip to Chile
for an international Festival, it created
a stir!
The
witches were removed from the text completely,
which gave the production pace at the expense
of clarity. Cast members created percussive
sounds from the side of the stage which sometimes
distracted rather than focused the drama.
However
it was an innovative production which created
some debate. I was pleased with my performance
as Malcolm and particularly enjoyed Ireland
and our trip to South America .
With
such an extensive tour I am surprised that I
have no programmes or photographs apart from
the one of Alistair Cording, who played a brooding
Macbeth.
Red
shift continues to create theatre under
the direction of Jonathan Holloway.
